Donating goods to villages

Beware donating to, or using the tour services of Devi Pandey of Adventure International Trekking, his website address is www.advnepaltrekking.com.

Unfortunately I donated approximately $1500 worth of educational tools and toothpaste and brushes through Devi Pandey of Adventure International Trekking, all I asked for in return was photos of the children from the Village using the educational tools. The goods were shipped from Australia in March 2008, Goods received by Devi Pandey and promises of pictures including appreciation letter from School, village community also from their Village developments progress forum.

In September when I still had not received anything, I questioned as to why and Devi Pandey became very defensive in his response and six weeks later after many many excuses I receive a couple of photos not of the poor kids from the village but of children all dressed in school uniforms, and no sign of the educational tools I sent over.

I will never know what happened to my donation and doubt if I will ever receive the promised letters of thank you. Please if you are donating and not physically able to take the goods to their destination yourself, please research the company you are donating through and do not use the services of Devi Pandey or Adventure International Trekking. Do not get caught like me.

Just come across this this letter. I have travelled twice through Nepal in search for the home of a 16 year old Gurkha who was killed in Iraq in 1941. APATHY is the word that comes to mind. Whilst I found the people in the remote villages very friendly when I came in contact with authirities ir travel agents it was ';Give him lodas of bullshit. Take his money and treat him like a fool';. I am much wiser now but still have not founf the village of GARIGAON. As for giving goods away I find the best way is to go directly to the village school and take the goods with you. There is a %26#39;whats in it for me%26#39; syndrom in many parts of Nepal. Be generous but be careful.

I do have humble Objection regarding this topic of Charlie Allen. We know very well Mr. Devi Pandey and his company Adventure International Trekking c and we have been joinning trekking %26amp; Tours with this company. we were so impressed from his professional service and quality of service. We can%26#39;t beleive the complain of Ms Charlie. He is a great person.

we do not understand that what type of servicv/Tour/trek has been taken ? Ms Charlie did not mentioned the topics of his service. She should mentioned what tour she did it with this company and what was the manin problem from this company ? We are very regret and very upset after reading this forum. We think, Ms Charlie tried to black mailling his company.

I just back from my wonderful Nepal trip for 2 weeks was fabulous which has organized by Adventure International. I had a wonderful experienced from nepalese mountain. I don%26#39;t know why Charlie tried action against Adventure company ?

Very upset from this forum noticed by Charlie Allen. Is she is unwise? Analysis this notice, seems look likes not the province of Donating goods, the section should be a personal Issue (Relationship between this 2 fellow). The charge against the company looks well design for Personal Attack and trying harassments for business. There is nothing wrong of Devi. He is well established personality in this industry? Since I knew him last 16 Years. I did ignore this attract.

I agree it is also good to be physically there to do the donation. I believe Charlie is just sharing his experiences.
