I%26#39;m going to Nepal at the end of January. I have read the news that there is now at least 12 hours per day of load shedding in Nepal.
Can someone tell the situation in Kathmandu and Pokhara now?
Thanks in advance!
load shedding in Nepal?
Dear Kozette
Namaste!!!
First of all i would like to welcome you in our beautiful country Nepal and i would like to introduce myself it%26#39;s me Surya Devkota from Kathmandu, Nepal.Professionally i%26#39;m a trekking guide in Nepal and a college student as well.
Regarding your query about loadshedding in Nepal, here is power cut(load shedding) everyday 14 hours now and the Nepal Electricity Corporation claims that the load shedding will be reduced soon by importing electricity from India and the loadshedding is due to the low level of water in the rivers and electricity importing line 33kvh was damaged by the koshi river in eastern nepal. Hopefully upto your arrival time in nepal it won%26#39;t be so long. For further details please write syanusurya@yahoo.com.
I hope to get your mail soon.

load shedding in Nepal?
Thanks for the information !
Hi, was in Kathmandu a little over a week ago %26amp; its now 16 hours a day of load shedding. They usually give you 4 hours of power in the morning like 0400-0800 %26amp; then another 4 in the afternoon 1600-2000. I also heard that this was going to be increased to 18 hours of load shedding in the coming weeks. Your hotel should be able to give you the load shedding schedule as it differs throughout the week.
