Hi guys, I%26#39;m planning my trip to the Himalayas this autumn and I%26#39;ve got a small problem (allready).
I%26#39;m not sure what trekking company to use, I%26#39;ve got a bunch of names on my list but I don%26#39;t know how good they are.
Do anyone have any experience with the companies that arrange the trips? Are there any forum that discusses the experience people have with the companies?
Thanks for all answers
Wich trekking company to use?
Hi,
Yes we also suffered the same type of problem when we had to choose a company for our trip to Nepal in 2005. It%26#39;s really hard to rely in one company on the net. Lucky we got the right company for our trek which we can definately recommend you it%26#39;s Adventure shangrila www.adventureshangrila.com email shang@wlink.com.np As per our experience you can trust the company for your trek.
Hope you will have very good time in Nepal. Thanks.
John

Anyone got any experience with them? they seem good.
Hello there,
There are plenty of agencies based in kathmandu so check once at www.corsanepaladventure.com,you may find some useful information there..
Enjoy your holiday..
cheers
We used http://www.itreknepal.com for our trip and we have no complaints whatsoever. We found them by chance and noticed their prices were much cheaper than UK based companies, as they charged in US$ (might be different now of course!). You can do it cheaper, but was glad to have them there for support, as any questions/requests we had they came up trumps with and our visit was rounded off with a stay in the amazing Dwarika Hotel in Kathmandu, which was something special. We spoke to other people who had booked and found ours to be really good value. We stayed in Bhaktapur Guest House which again is nice, comfortable accommodation close to the local attractions. Also, there was only my wife and I on the trek to Muktinath with 1 guide and 3 porters, once of which was female - itrek are looking to employ more women as porters. iTrek are looking to branch out to other countries and if they maintain the same standards that they have in Nepal then I am sure they will do well. Alternatively, you could just turn up in Kathmandu and try to book through one of the companies located in the centre.
I am sure there are many good companies out there, and a few less good ones as well.
I just did a trek in the Khumbu region, and I arranged a guide through Above the Himalaya agency.
I cannot compare it with another, since it is the only one I have used, but I am 100% satisfied with the way they treated me, their prices and knowledge. My guide was called Purna, and the owner is called Puru.
I travelled as a single female, and was extra careful with choosing a guide, but they did not disappoint me in any way.
If you want, contact me and I can give you their emailaddress (i don麓t want to advertise here, because maybe then the admin will delete message).
It麓s defenitely worth sending them a mail, they usually reply quite quickly, and can answer all your questions.
