I am going to Nepal for 4 weeks in May to early June 09 (i am female, will b travelling solo)..Just wondering if anyone had advice on itinery? I%26#39;m getting a bit overwhelmed.. i want to do some time in Kathmandu, EBC trek, Chitwan Nat Park, and Pokhara for a few days and then fly back out of KTM. I%26#39;m thinkin i%26#39;ll do EBC trek straight from KTM (any advice about a reasonably priced company?) to avoid bad weather as much as possible but then im not sure how to go about getting to the other places. Are buses safe for a young female travelling alone? And can anyone recommend how long i should spend in each area?

i was in nepal for 11 days.
heard that to get to EBC you need 21 days, not very sure abt tt.
in kathmandu and surroundings, maybe 3 days for a leisurely pace type of sightseeing?
chitwan park i was there for 3D2N on a package (i think either you book the package (meals n programmes included) from tour agencies in nepal, or maybe u can check with the lodges in chitwan direct.
the time was just nice for me.
there%26#39;s tourist buses, so since u%26#39;re travelling alone, maybe u shd spend more and take the tourist bus instead of local bus. i tried the local bus with my friend (we%26#39;re both females in mid 20-s) and was ok, but that%26#39;s cos there%26#39;s 2 of us.

Day 01:Arrival in Kathmandu,check in hotel.
Day 02:Sight seen in Kathmandu(Pashupati,Bauddha,Shwyambhu %26amp; Kathmandu Darbarsquare).
Day 03:Deparutre from Kathmandu to trek(EBC,fly from Kathmandu,Lukla to Phakding.
Fly to Lukla and start trekking. The trail climbs for about an hour after Puiyan to a ridge at 2800 meters, then up to another ridge, passing the path to Lukla airport, after which we climb on to Phakding.
Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar
Day 05: Rest day for acclimatization
Day 06: Namche - Tengboche
Day 07: Tengboche - Dingboche
Day 08: Dingboche - Lobuche
Day 09: Lobuche - Kala Patthar - Gorakshep
Day 10: Gorakshep – EBC - Dingboche (4320m)
We go up to the Everest Base Camp and return
Day 11: Excursions around Chhukung.
Day 12: Chhukung -
Day 13: Tengboche - Namche Bazaar
Day 14: Namche to Lukla
Day 15: Fly to Kathmandu
Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel.
Day 16:Rest day in Kathmandu.
Day 17:Kathmandu to Pokhara,check in hotel.
Day 18:Sight seen around the Pokhara(David falls,,Gupteshwor cave,International musuem etc.)
Day 19:Early in the morning visit Sarangkot(sun rise) then return back to Hotel and after lauch hiking to peace Pagoda.
Day 20:Departure from Pokhar to Chitwan(2/3 days).
Day 21:Program in Chitwan.
Day 22:Return back from Chitwan to Kathmandu.
