Pashminas

I normally don%26#39;t write into these forums, but I had such a wonderful shopping experience in Pokhara that I just have to share it with as many travellers as possible. After many failed attempts to buy a genuine 100% pashmina at a reasonable (i.e. non-tourist) price, I found a true gem called ';Love Love Pashmina Store';.

The proprietor is a simply wonderful and kind man called Shiva Kumar Singh. He was full of genuine and helpful advice as to what pashmina to buy (his English was not great, we spoke in Hindi). I purchased 5 single weave pashminas (the 100% stuff, not the 70:30 mix) for 5000 Nepali rupees. My only regret was that I did not buy any more!!

I was so pleased to get away from the awful rip-off tourist stores that I had previously experienced. While I was shopping at Love Love, I actually met and spoke to some Nepalis from Kathmandu who were there also buying pashminas - a true sign of a good store!!
