Kathmandu or Lhasa for seeing Everest

Hello all,

We are in the very early stages of planning a trip to India in May. So I%26#39;m being a bit lazy and posting this question rather than continuing my research at this point. I will continue with that once I get your expert opinions!

I would like to incorporate a short stay (3-4 days...I know...short!) in either Kathmandu or Llasa with one of the main purposes to catch a glimpse of the great Everest. Of course, I would love to stay for a greater length of time for hiking the Himalaya, but it just can%26#39;t happen this trip.

Where would be the better destination to attempt to achieve my lofty goal!?

Hello There,

Generally travel to Lhasa you will need visa and permit which would take minimum 5days at present but instead of doing that better fly from kathmandu because here you may choose two options one is take private helicopter for couple of hours and made dream sucess and cost is pretty expensive OR the other one is take small aircraft for an hour flight close to the mt.everest.

So, I would recommend you to make trip from nepal rather than lhasa.Thanks

Apologize for not written completely. I was supposed to write here about doing the flightseeing over mt.everest by small aircraft which cost you US$164 each pax at the moment and there will be 16 or couple of more people together with you.
