A few important notes on Nepal

What%26#39;s the weather like in June? And how many ways are there to enter Tibet (from Kathmandu) by land? How long does it take, and how much does it cost (transport + permit)? I am Canadian. Thanks.

A few important notes on Nepal

June is the start of the monsoon and it is hot in the first half and wet on the second half. This link might of help for you to know about the weather averages in different parts of Nepal. exoticbuddha.com/english/…

If you are thinking of going to Lhasa in Tibet, there is only one way from Kathmandu - via Kodari along Araniko Highway.

If you are going to Tibet from kathmandu, then you need a chinese visa (group visa) which costs US$ 26. You also need a permit from the Tibet Travel Bureau. The permit will be arranged by a travel agency and you need to travel in organized group.

Ok Well if I spend the first half of June in Nepal, and the 2nd half in Tibet, I will have avoided the rains, right?

And if the permit is included in the tour price, then all i really need to do is go to the chinese embassy in kathmandu and get a chinese visa? What does group visa mean? Does it means I have to stay with the tour group the whole time in Tibet? How long can I stay in Tibet? Will be I be allowed to enter other Western Chinese provinces, like Xinjiang, or the Gobi desert provinces afterwards?
