Is it OK to buy a sleeping bag on arrival in Katmandhu?

Hi, my daughter is just about to head off (this week) to Katmandhu to meet a Dragoman tour. Part of this tour is accommodated in hotels, part is camping. The tour has about 3 days in Nepal, then goes south, via Darjeeling, Calcutta and ends up in Chennai. (by this time it is mid March). The she is going on her own to Goa. The question is: should she take her good sleeping bag with her from home? or is it easy to buy an adequate one on arrival in Katmandhu? She is staying in a hotel in the Thamel district and will have 3 days prior to meeting the tour group, so she would have time to purchase one. I would appreciate any advice, thanks very much.

Of course every thing she can buy on arrival,all the necessary equipment,trekking gears can buy around Thaml,Kathmandu.
