Hi there,
My boyfriend and I have been thinking about visiting Nepal for the first time this year. We%26#39;d only have either 2 or 3 weeks, so not much time for trekking (that%26#39;d have to be another trip) just generally trying to get around to the different sites.
However we%26#39;ve noticed that the only time we%26#39;re able to go - May/June - is as one guide book says ';the worst time to go'; due to being too hot/dusty/rainy etc.
Are we best looking elsewhere this time and coming back to Nepal another time, or is it really not that bad?
Grateful for any advice.
Alex
May/June - non starters?
The first half of May is a great time to be in Nepal but the rains do start during the second half.
I have been in KTM in mid May just as the rains started and was glad to be leaving (the first few storms are amazing, but then you get tired of being wet %26amp; muddy quite quickly).
This might have been a one-off of course so I dont know if the rains always start then.
Personally I would leave Nepal until you can get the absolute best out of it - April/ May/November from personal experience.
May/June - non starters?
I have not tried the monsoon season, but agree with Dukla that the autumn - october / November - is superb.
I%26#39;m surprised that you%26#39;ve written off the idea of a trekduring a 3 week visit: the Khumbu / EBC /Kala Patter, or the Annapurna Sanctuary are both comfortable 2 week treks
