I%26#39;ve read recently that there are now 12 hour blackouts every day in Kathmandu. Soon it is expected to be 16 hours. How does this affect a visit to Kathmandu? Are generators prominent? How does food not spoil? I%26#39;m visiting in mid-February and am very curious of how this trip will turn out.
power outages?
hi we are off to kathmandu also in feb - take torches etc and try not to worry about the power shortages - just try and get things done in the light and enjoy the power shortages - last time we were there we had power cuts at night and we got used to it - just remember the nepalese have to just get on with it ---------------it will be fun ( take some thermals for night )
power outages?
If you take a good hotel they have generator and UPS so you no need to worried for that.
yep u are well right - we stayed at park village hotel and they had back up
Outages are frequent, and more so now with the transmission line problems. Expect them and have a flashlight. It is all part of the experience!!
