Quick to Nepal - suggestions

My wife and I will be in Kolkata, India in February attending a family wedding. We have a few free days and were debating taking a short trip somewhere. Any suggestions on where to go or what to see - I think there is a direct flight from Kolkata to Kathmandu - any suggestions?

Quick to Nepal - suggestions

Hello Choolku,

Yeah there are flight availiable from Kolkata to kathmandu almost everyday by Indian airlines. And if you are looking for some extra trip to nepal then I may suggest you to do the best mountain flight over mt.everest which is operating by the domestic airlines call either ';Buddha Air or Yeti Air'; and get the nice opportunity to view mt.everest and other himalayan ranges it happen just morning time each day for an hour together with other people(18seater plane). And later you may visit all the temples, stupas and old heritage sites been focus by the UNESCO in 1984.

Similarly,if you are in nepal for more or less week then you may head to pokhara or chitwan national park to get something different adventure experience.

Enjoy your holiday in nepal...

The mountain flight that NakulNepal mentions is a ';don%26#39;t miss'; imo. Fantastic views, and I had a trip to the cockpit in-flight on Buddha Air.

Durbar Sq in Kat is beautiful.

A few kilometers away from Kat lies historic Bhaktapur, with its beautiful square, and its car-less streets.

Maybe a half-day trip to Narangkot for beautiful views of the Himalayans and for some fresh air and trekking.

I also agree that, time-permitting, Pokhara is a great place to visit w/ its lakeside location, fantastic views of the mountains, and proximity to Sarangkot. Paragliding an option there too.

I found a very reliable travel company in Nepal that helped me with many such arrangements for my April 2008 trip. I invite you to PM me if you%26#39;d like more info.
