treking in Nepal

just wondering what%26#39;s the best time of the year weather-wise for trekking in Nepal - in India for 6 months - until early July so want to go at best time weather-wise. also - any suggestions/tips on who organises the best treks - we%26#39;re not mountain climbers but we%26#39;d like to do a fairly long one with a bit of challenge to it!

treking in Nepal

April - May - after winter, before the arrival of the monsoon - would be good.

The Kumbu: Lukhla - Gokyo - Cho La - Kala Pattar (about 18 days, great views of Everest and other big mountains, maximum altitude 5600 metres, sherpa culture, not particularly difficult technically) or

The Annapurna Circuit: (similar length, very varied landscapes and culture, not at all technical, maximum altitude 5400 metres)

Langtang - Gosainkund (again around 18 days. Lots of variety, long uphills, spectacular landscapes, 5000 metres)

spring to mind as suitable routes that would be challenging, but not involve %26#39;mountain climbing%26#39;

A number of agents could organise any of these trips. I would recommend using a Nepali-owned, Kathmandu-based firm rather than a western-owned one. I have a list of companies that have been recommended by Trip Advisor posters. Send me a private message if you%26#39;d like a copy

I am going to be in Nepal for a week from June 16th this year, overlanding from India, and just wondered if you had any any suggestions for a weeks itinery around the Katmundu area or beyond?

Would it be possible to do some kind of trek that would go towards the Everest area or is this too ambitious for a week in the country before returning to India?

Cheers,

Simon

Hi there,

I am going to be in Khatmandu in June this year and want to find out if there is a way to overland through Nepal over the border to get to Darjeeling? Quickest, cheapest route, and how long would it take? Is it safe?

Thanks,

Hello there,

I saw your message just a minute ago. Really its not easy to be in new place alone so that you need a good companion or friend to complete the trip happily.

We did Annapurna Circuit Trekking from Besishahar to Pokhara. The trekking was best to do. We had selected this trek even there were lots of other options to trek like in Everest region and Langtang region. We had a guide with us and he was really a better guide. If you want to plan your trekking with him then its really better to contact in his email address. I think he will provide you the best information about any trekking trails of Nepal. His email address is theupendra@gmail.com Even he might be busy, he will provide you the best and accurate information.

Best of luck and have a nice trekking in Nepal.

Jone
