We%26#39;re planning on doing a tea house trek to Poon Hill for five days at the end of March beginning of April. I was wondering what to expect when staying at a tea house, ie bedding arrangements (dorms / rooms), and whether we need to take a sleeping bag, towels etc. What clothing would we need as well for that time of year.
Many thanks in advance.

Tea House Trek
Most tea houses will have twin rooms - basic, but normally clean, as well as a dormitory-style room. Beds will ghave a mattress, and normally a pillow, sometimes a blanket. The best bet is to take your own sleeping bag, and towel!
Days should be pleasantly warm at that time of year, but venings may be a chilly. A down jacket (which also serves as an additional pillow) is useful, but not essential, a good fleece jacket would be sufficient (and normally the stove in the lodge dining room will be lit !)

Many thanks - that%26#39;s useful... I understand we can hire down jackets if necessary in Pokhara??
We%26#39;ll do that same trek in the same period. Will you be in a group? Or individual? We will start 26th of march and end 30th of march. We%26#39;re in an international group.
We%26#39;re not getting to Nepal until the 25th and then we%26#39;re doing the trek with a guide from the 30th March - 3rd April. I think we%26#39;re doing it on our own (myself and my partner).... Enjoy!!
Great! Enjoy :) I hope we will all be okay!
Yes - you can hire down jackets in KTM, and I imagine you can in Pokhara.

WOW! Sounds a bit like MY schedule.
I leave for Nepal 25 March.
But I fly up to Jomsom on 29 March to start trekking ';backward';, i.e. down to near Pokhara. 5-day trek.
My travel agency thought it wouldn%26#39;t be a bad idea to have a down jacket that time of year, since it might get cool at night. He%26#39;s actually loaning me one!!! Beats toting it around on several flights!
Can anyone explain what a down jacket is??? :)
This may help explain the Down Jacket:

Hello Samkirk,
I am really pleased to inform you some words about trekking in Ghorepani / Poon Hill; the best trekking route in the world.
On the trek you can get rooms with single and double bed and as the time you said the season is the most busy season along the trail so that if you are alone and if you do not have any guide porter then you may not be able to get rooms in the lodges.
If you can afford then its better to have sleeping bag and towel with a down jacket (Water and wind proof jacket.
Take care and best of luck.
