Looking for people who have used the above company and what were their thoughts regarding the company. Did you enjoy the trek? They are considerably cheaper than other companies we have looked at? Has any one used Peregrine or World Exp?
Query ACE the Himalaya trek to base camp Mt Everest
Hi Fran - thanks for your information regarding the company ACE which you used. Could you please let us know what was the accommodation like when treking to base camp, also did you find it a difficult climb? notice they do not take as long as other companies so was concerned whether you had enough time to acclimatise to the high altitude?

I used them twice for Annapurna and Everest base camp both, you will only require 12 walk to get base camp and get back but the they offer bit longer itinerary which also include a day city tour in Kathmandu plus a spare day at the end. They arranged quite good accommodation in the trekking and also in Kathmandu, seems like they always pick best one in the route. I didn鈥檛 really suffer from the altitude but it was more common for everyone to experience few symptoms such as small headache, breathing problem etc. Using local company is good value of what you paid and also money is going directly to local people and it is lot cheaper. It doesn鈥檛 bother me to say they are much better than any international companies like Peregrine, World Exp etc.

My wife %26amp; I used ACE in Dec/Jan to Everest %26amp; can%26#39;t rate them highly enough. Absolutely everything was taken care of %26amp; ran as smooth as silk. They were always on time for pick-ups etc... %26amp; the airport dealings were taken care of.
Unlike the above post, our guide was great. He did check if things were ok alot, but that was all. At dinner he would ask, we would say fine %26amp; then he would leave us to have his own dinner. On our trek like above, the guide %26amp; porter didn%26#39;t have sleeping bags, but the guest houses always provided them with 2 blankets %26amp; a huge dinner of Dhal Bhat, no matter what we ordered.
Our guide, Gyanu, was excellent. Very knowledgable %26amp; full of information. Also very willing to share with us his insights %26amp; thoughts on Nepali culture. He also taught me some Nepali card games which was a great way to fill in time during the afternoons.
After tea each night, Gyanu would sit down with us %26amp; discuss the plans for the next day. He suggested a couple of small changes to our itinerary to make us more comfortable, like pushing on to Pangboche instead of staying at Tengboche. This as due to the fact that we were there in the heart of winter %26amp; Tengboche is really exposed %26amp; colder than Pangboche. Also the lodges in Tengboche don%26#39;t look after the guides %26amp; porters as well as other towns do.
Overall it was a fantastic trip, I can%26#39;t rate the service highly enough %26amp; I would definately use them again if I go back.
Please feel free to contact me direct if you need any further information or have any questions about ACE or Nepal in general.
