Diabetes and Nepal

I am traveling to Nepal in Mid April for 8 weeks to volunteer teaching English and working in an orphanage. I may be sent to the Katmandu valley, Pokhara, Nawalparasi or Chitwan I am an insulin dependent diabetic with an insulin pump.I%26#39;m in excellent health and very fit. I%26#39;m hearing that electricity is down to 2 hours per day in Katmandu itself and am concerned about keeping my insulin refrigerated. Has anyone traveled using Frio packs to keep medical supplies at the correct temperature for an extended period ? Will the current situation be a problem health wise? Any feedback on the volunteering experience in Nepal would also be most welcome. Thanks for your help
